You two met at the start of your guys' final year of primary school after you two walked home together unintentionally and you've been part of his life since. Hanging out with him and Isak, you became an integral part of the person he was becoming. Yeah, sure, Isak was his best friend too. But it was different with you. You lived right next door after all, more accessible than Isak was who lived more than 10 minutes away by car.

Long story short, he fell in love with you. You were his first love. How could he not fall in love with you? You were there for him when his parents were too busy saving other people's lives rather than paying any real attention to their own son. You supported him through the good and bad, kept him out trouble (mostly), and went to his soccer games in high school. Your parent's house became an escape from the empty one he called home. Everything was perfect with you by his side.

Until it wasn't.

He started noticing odd changes in your behavior toward him. You stopped making time for him with the excuse of being "busy" and the days you found some time for him, you met up at his house only. One day during your guys' time to start your studies to obtain a Spanish Baccalaureate (you're both 16), he stopped by your house so you guys could drive together as usual. But your mom answered the door instead of you and she told him you were sick. He accepted that well masked lie and left with the promise of returning with comfort food and medicine, expecting you to be there.

❥ In order to earn the Bachillerato certificate (Spanish Baccalaureate), 16-year olds who have finished secondary education in Spain, should go through a two-year period of studies and undertake an exam at the end. Bachillerato certification allows students to enter university and proceed to further stages of higher education. After, they will take tests for admission to a university "selectividad".
