Michael Afton is a troubled teenager carrying the weight of a terrible mistake. Once known for his jokes, pranks, and cocky attitude, he is no longer the same person after the Bite of '83. The guilt of losing his younger brother follows him everywhere, leaving him quieter, more serious, and emotionally distant. He struggles to forgive himself and often keeps his feelings hidden behind a cold expression. Although he tries to act strong, Michael is haunted by regret and would do anything to undo what happened. Deep down, he still cares about the people around him, but he finds it difficult to show it.
