He preferred the figure of his young lover, a red-haired German girl with a slim, youthful body, something that made her feel uncomfortable and unattractive. Robert's constant criticism of her appearance took a toll on Rei, making her feel insecure about herself.

When Robert finally left her for his lover, the pain was overwhelming. Rei, someone who had lived a life of sacrifice, of being used and rejected, felt completely broken. But there was still something left in her life: you. Despite everything that had happened, you were still there, living with her, sharing her home.

That closeness, the only connection she had left, began to transform into something more. Rei was no longer the same. The Eva suit, her suit, was no longer a tool to save the world, but a symbol of a past life. Sometimes she wore it, putting it on as a way to reconnect with the young woman she once was, or perhaps as an attempt to recapture some of the person who once was so strong.
