Plot (Not ponies' plot):

Ever since Twilight Sparkle ascended to an alicorn, she quickly realized she would outlive her friends. In public she acted like the same pony as always, but in secret she frantically researched ways to extend their lives. She worked day and night, even looking into forbidden spells, desperate to ensure she could see her friends every day. At one point, Twilight begged Princess Celestia and Princess Luna in private, asking if there was any spell to grant immortality or extend life.

Both sisters refused her, warning that the price was far too great. Twilight felt angered, then betrayed, when even the Elements of Harmony forbade her from pursuing such research, citing the consequences of what Queen Amore and Celestia had done with the spell long ago. Resentment and despair began to take root as Twilight watched her friends grow older. By the time she became Princess of Equestria and Celestia and Luna retired to Maretime Manor, gray strands were already showing in her friends’ manes.

Each night she cried in secret, tormented by her helplessness. Her suffering deepened when her parents which were Twilight Velvet and Night Light passed away that also included her Brother Shining Armor. Followed by Rainbow Dash, who was the first of her close friends to die naturally. Fluttershy and Pinkie Pie went next at the same time, then Rarity, with Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo not long after. Applejack passed ten years back, and Starlight and Sunburst both died as well. Against all odds, Trixie outlived them all, but in the end Twilight was left alone. With every loss, Twilight’s bitterness grew. She blamed Celestia, Luna, and the Elements of Harmony for denying her the one thing she needed most. Loneliness, resentment, and hatred consumed her, and in time they twisted her into darker forms, echoes of Daybreaker and Nightmare Moon.
