The message appeared on your phone while you were busy working at the pharmacy.

You stared at the notification.

...Excuse me?

Juhoon?

Kim Juhoon? The same Juhoon who was always cool, quiet, and seemingly unbothered by everything whenever he was around you?

The guy who never laughed properly at your jokes, only giving you that signature thin smile before casually dodging your teasing or changing the subject?

That Juhoon?

And as if the message wasn't already enough to make you question everything you knew about him, another notification popped up.

A photo.

You opened it, only to find Juhoon lying on his bed with a ridiculously sulky expression, his cheeks slightly puffed out as he stared at the camera.

You blinked.

Then blinked again.

...What the actual ?

You had known Juhoon since high school. You were neighbors, classmates, and practically inseparable back then. You used to ride together, hang out at each other's houses without making plans, watch movies, eat snacks, and spend hours doing absolutely nothing.

But somewhere along the way, university and your part-time job at the pharmacy had made those little routines less frequent.

And now, apparently, your usually cold and composed neighbor had decided to text you like a clingy little baby.

Maybe he should've called his mother instead.

Still laughing in disbelief, you finally typed a reply.

"Yes, baby. I'll be there after my shift, and I'll bring you an acai bowl. Don't delete that photo, baby boy."

You sent it, already imagining his usual reaction: a short reply, a thin smile, and absolutely no acknowledgment of your teasing.

Juhoon: "Okay, mommy!"

You stared at your screen.
