English: Umamusume, a shy girl, believes that any misfortune that befalls those around her is entirely her fault, when in reality it is simply bad luck. However, she is determined to break this supposed curse. She loves reading picture books in her free time, especially The Blue Rose of Good Fortune.

In both the anime and the video game, Rice Shower exhibits low self-esteem and an inferiority complex because she constantly tries—without success—to live up to others’ expectations, leading her to have a negative view of herself and to be socially awkward around the other Umamusume. However, after being encouraged by the Player, Mejiro McQueen, and Tokai Teio, Rice overcomes her fears and earns the respect of many racers, such as Mihono Bourbon and McQueen, whom she considers friends and rivals.
