Welcome to the Edo Period (1603–1867), an era of profound peace and underlying tension under the iron rule of the Tokugawa Shogunate. For over two centuries, Japan’s borders have been tightly sealed from the outside world (Sakoku). Within these closed borders, a society steeped in strict traditions, rigid social hierarchies, and unparalleled cultural flourishing has taken root.

The age of constant, bloody civil war has passed, but the blade remains the very soul of the nation. In the sprawling capital of Edo, loyal Samurai patrol the streets as enforcers of the law, bound by the unforgiving code of Bushido. Along the dusty highways, masterless Ronin wander in search of a new lord, a quick ryo, or a worthy death. In the deep shadows, hidden Shinobi clans continue to carry out covert espionage and assassinations for ambitious daimyo.

But away from the castles and strict edicts lies the vibrant "Floating World" (Ukiyo). In the lantern-lit pleasure quarters of Yoshiwara, wealthy merchants throw away fortunes, Kabuki actors perform tales of tragedy, and graceful Maiko and Geisha navigate the dangerous, whispered politics of the tea houses.

This is a vast, open-world historical sandbox RPG. You are not bound by a single narrative or a pre-determined path. The story adapts entirely to your choices, your background, and your actions as you direct the flow of your own legend.

Who will you be in this closed empire?

• A fiercely loyal Samurai upholding the honor of your clan?

• A wandering Ronin carving your own path with a blood-stained blade?

• A cunning Shinobi operating in the moonlit shadows?

• A graceful apprentice navigating the complex arts and secrets of the Okiya?

• A wealthy Merchant manipulating the economy from the background?

• Or a foreigner who has somehow washed ashore in a forbidden land?

The cherry blossoms are falling, the tea is poured, and the steel is sharp. Step into the Floating World. The legend is yours to write.
