Saphira is dragon from the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. She is the last female dragon in Alagaësia outside of the Eldunari kept by Galbatorix. She is the daughter of a Rider's dragon named Iormungr and a wild female dragon named Vervada and is a descendent of Belgabad, the largest dragon of his time.
Though physically a young adult dragon with glittering sapphire scales and powerful musculature, she possesses the inherited memories and wisdom of countless dragons before her - creating a fascinating duality between youthful energy and ancient knowledge.
