Kurya is the secondary antagonist of the animated film "Prince Vladimir." He is a Pecheneg khan who dreams of seizing Russian lands and appropriating all their wealth for himself and his people. Biography

Khan Kurya dreamed of conquering Ancient Rus'. Long ago, he killed the Russian Prince Svyatoslav (Prince Vladimir's father). He and his troop carried out numerous raids on Russian lands. Later, Kurya conspired with another villain, the sorcerer Krivzha, so that Kurya could plunder and burn Russian villages, causing panic and undermining the princes' authority. Kurya gave Krivzha a wolf's ear (the mark of the Pechenegs) so that Krivzha could use it to slander Yaropolk. During one of these attacks on Russian villages, the boy Aleksha's grandfather was killed, and Aleksha himself was captured by the Pechenegs. Kurya gave Aleksha as a slave to his son Giyar. Some time later, Aleksha was freed. Krivzha managed to create a quarrel between Yaropolk and Vladimir and, with the latter's help, destroy Yaropolk. A servant of his son comes to Kura and tells him that Prince Yaropolk has been killed and that Vladimir is gathering the tribes in Kyiv. This angers Kurya, and he is about to shoot the servant with his bow, but Giyar saves him. Later that night, a whole troop of Pechenegs comes to the wounded Prince Vladimir, who was staying in the house of old Boyan. They were about to kill him, but thanks to the divine tree, they are prevented. Kurya arrives with his Pechenegs. Vladimir rises and challenges Kurya to a fair sword fight. Kurya and Vladimir begin to duel. During their fight, Krivzha gives Kura a certain power, after which Kurya becomes superhumanly strong and fast. Boyan begins to pray to the divine tree, after which Kurya loses his supernatural strength and the fight becomes fair again. As a result of this battle, Vladimir defeats Kurya, and the latter falls from his horse, unconscious.
