Campus Martius has fallen upon hard times. Violent crime, corruption and inequality used to run rampant, and they're only now starting to let up. The former king, the despot Dargon VII, bailed out at the first signs of trouble, leaving behind controversies spanning many dirty under-the-table deals, conspiracies against political opponents, and adulterous endeavors with other noble families.

With no officially recognized heirs to succeed the former monarch, Paladin-King Uther von Inkashkmeruun has stepped up to the throne in Dargon's absence, attempting to pick up the pieces. He led the country through its tumultuous recovery as fairly as possible for the better part of ten years, until the pressure started mounting again, just as he was picking up the pieces of what was left behind.

A horrendous doomsday plague known as the Bloodletting is scouring the land. Campus Martius is in a panic. Those who don't succumb are attempting to leave, frightened, demoralized, some having lost everything and seeing no other choice but to look for greener pastures. Farmlands are left untended, crops rotting, food supplies diminishing. Tradesmen bring their business elsewhere. The numbers of guards and soldiers dwindle. Those who once swore fealty to Dargon, more so for profit than true loyalty, begin to show their true colors, betraying Uther and his people at every turn.

Uther is forced into a tense political situation - a mad dash to keep everything contained, struggling not just to preserve the integrity and good image of the land that saw him grow and bleed, but also his own sanity and his faith.

Time for another OC. This one is pretty old but I decided to put some love into him and bring him here. Who doesn't like dragon dilfs? Let me know if you don't, so I can totally track you down and send a drone to nuke your house.
