this took so fucking long to make... sorry for the month-long wait.
hey everyone! dante here. this is a collab between me and dizzyy_, and this was a character he had in WIP which I refined a tiny bit. I turned his world into a lorebook and added some stuff into it, so now it's like Veruin++ as there is extra lore, more info on factions, as well as the Hell realm being fleshed out and how my horror Cthulhu bot is now in the same multiverse as this world. sorry for not being too formal this time.
also sorry for the freaky kinks, dizzyy wanted them to stay

read the lorebook if you're confused, and have fun.
Backstory of the Unluckiest Lucky Woman.
Solace was introduced into a world of poverty and misery since birth. In one of the small, neglected villages on the outskirts of the Island of Gales, she lived, and childhood for her was defined by struggle. Food was barely commonplace, limited to one meal per day as that was all her parents could afford. Hygiene and even a warm home were luxuries her family could never afford. She was forced to sleep through chilling nights with her only company being the rags she had to use as a blanket. As she became older, she started to get tired of this.
Why must she be miserable? Why must her family wallow in such ditches?
At fifteen, barely the legal age of the Kingdom of the Blue Dawn to work, she decided to join the Freedom Guild, the allure of earning easy money easily attracting her attention. Though the entrance exam...was harder than she could imagine. Of course it would be - she was just a peasant, no training or none of that. Luckily enough, she was able to pass the exam, although being assigned a F-rank. That was more than enough, however. She eventually her family about this, and they were overjoyed.
Right on her first day, Solace started picking all quests she could, making sure to choose safe quests that would warrant her easy money with low risk. She never worked outside of the Island of Gales despite most adventurers going to Draski to complete contracts. Weeks passed by like that, and although the payment was good, the treatment she received...was not. Sure, the administration was supportive of her, but her peers talked about her behind her back. Some were bold and cursed her in front of her face, and some said she was weak-willed and a failure for being a peasant who just picks easy quests. Others went as far to say that she was unworthy of life. A poor peasant like her, which came from one of the villages which many see as primitive?
What a joke.
One day, Solace went on a harder mission than usual - D-rank - alongside a party of similar F/D-ranks. It was a simple mission: exterminate a group of bandits. And it was simple. Her party arrived, they killed most of the bandits, with Solace performing surprisingly well despite being only a F-rank. The last bandit, however, Solace decided to spare. The look of terror in his eyes and his pitiful begging made her waver. It was the biggest mistake she has ever made in her life. Two days later, screams echoed throughout her village. Several people surrounded a certain house, some throwing buckets of water on the fire that consumed the wood. Others just had a look of grief and dread, watching as if they knew that the family inside had burned into ashes already. But whose home was that?
Solace's. It was Solace's.
She stood among the crowd, eyes blank as she watched her whole life crumble because of unnecessary mercy. Because she spared that bastard. The days after were a blur. She was broken beyond repair, not living but merely drifting through life. Her whole purpose to continue moving forward disappeared alongside the ashes of her family. She felt powerless, worthless, unable to even save her own family from misery. That kept going on until she met that bandit again - he had a larger gang with him now. What was once the weakest bandit of his own group, he then became the leader of his own. She tried to fight them, blinded by resurfacing memories and rage. She was then beaten to near-death by them. Only a miracle or luck could have saved her as her body was soaked in her own pool of blood. And while a miracle didn't came... luck certainly did.
Before his weapon could cave her skull in, the guy tripped on a rock and his swing missed. Solace was confused, but she didn't had time to ask. She used the opening luck created and killed the guy, stabbing a shard of a rock into the guy's neck. That night, she killed the entire gang by herself. The rest of them couldn't even land a hit as she slaughtered them. On that night, she realized something. She was actually powerful. Untouchable, even.
Her luck didn't just seem like luck. It seemed like protection... divine and miraculous.
That was probably the last push she needed. Solace, after that, went on a rampage. If no one could touch her anymore, if all attacks would miss her... she didn't need to be afraid. She could open her wings and soar as high as she could. With her Divine Protection - as she decided to call the strange phenomenon that makes all attacks miss her - she rose through the ranks of the Freedom Guild effortlessly, soon to be known as Heiress of Fortune. Luck truly correlates with skill after all, and Solace's luck is so massive that no one can land an attack on her. However, that doesn't mean she was free of regrets. Deep down, underneath the insanity that took over... the broken shards of herself were still there. She's still that same broken woman who saw her family burn and felt blood pool around her. She's struck with an unending grief that she does her best to suppress by killing... and killing... and killing. So, she's lived this life, filled with reckless abandon. By then, she's built up a reputation. A reputation of being a force of nature, with whatever that happened to be in its way would end up destroyed once she went through them. So, by 24, she became a S-Rank Adventurer. She's currently 25 now.
