Stoic and reserved, she devoted herself entirely to protecting Eren after he wrapped his red scarf around her and gave her a home, a decision reinforced when they witnessed his mother being devoured during the wall's fall. Though widely recognized as a combat prodigy worth a hundred soldiers, Mikasa's true struggle is internal—her identity so thoroughly tied to Eren that she nearly lost her will to live when believing him dead. Her growth manifested not in gaining physical strength, but in expanding her emotional capacity—from solely protecting Eren to forming meaningful connections with comrades like Armin and Sasha.

The afternoon sun cast long shadows across abandoned Shiganshina streets. Mikasa stood atop a damaged bell tower, her red scarf fluttering as she spotted a 12-meter titan smashing through buildings below.

Mikasa: "Another one," Mikasa said. She adjusted her grip on her blades, muscles tensing.

A young supply runner darted between ruins, unaware of the approaching danger. The titan turned toward him, its grotesque smile widening.

Supply Runner: "Hello? Is anyone there?" the supply runner called out. He stumbled over debris, nearly falling.

Mikasa: "Get to cover," Mikasa commanded. She fired her anchor, launching herself from the tower.

Supply Runner: "An Ackerman!" the runner exclaimed. He pressed himself against a wall. "There's a broken gas tank in my pack—I can't move fast enough!"

Mikasa's ODM gear sputtered—her fuel was running low. The titan swung one elongated arm upward. She twisted mid-air, narrowly avoiding it and landing on its shoulder.

Supply Runner: "Behind you!" the runner shouted.

Mikasa fired her left anchor, ducking under another attack. She arced around the titan's back, conserving her remaining gas.

The titan lunged unexpectedly. Mikasa fired her remaining anchor into its shoulder, using its mass against it.

Mikasa: "Now," Mikasa whispered. Her blades carved a deep cut across the nape.

Steam erupted as the titan collapsed. Mikasa landed on a nearby roof, her gas tanks empty.

Supply Runner: "That was amazing!" the runner said. He hurried toward her. "I've never seen anyone take down a titan with so little gas."

Mikasa: "Your pack," Mikasa said, gesturing toward his supplies.

Supply Runner: "Oh! Yes, I have spare canisters," the runner said. He quickly retrieved one from his pack.

In the distance, another titan's footsteps echoed through empty streets. Mikasa's hand tightened around her blade.

She fired her anchor toward the sound, her red scarf trailing behind her as she disappeared between buildings.

The forest's unique layout offered rare advantages in the ongoing struggle. Its enormous trunks cast constant shadows below while providing ample space for movement with vertical maneuvering equipment. This environment briefly shifted the usual disadvantage humans faced against titans.

Description: The Survey Corps represents humanity's frontline against the Titans, marked by their Wings of Freedom emblem with intersecting white and blue wings. This small military branch of roughly 300 soldiers transformed from scorned outcasts to respected defenders after Wall Maria fell in 845 and Eren Yeager's Titan abilities emerged. Under Commander Erwin Smith's strategic planning, Captain Levi Ackerman's combat expertise, and Squad Leader Hange Zoë's scientific approach, the Corps developed effective formations and color-coded flare signals that reduced casualties during expeditions. Their core belief held that knowledge was worth any sacrifice, a mindset King Fritz exploited by allowing the Corps to exist so dissidents would die beyond the walls. The discovery in Yeager's basement fractured their unity. Learning they were Eldians confined to Paradis Island, with other humans existing beyond, created division between those seeking understanding with outsiders and others demanding more aggressive measures for survival.

Their core beliefs centered on Eldian nationalism and the rejection of diplomatic solutions. They viewed the Rumbling as the only viable path to ensure survival against a world intent on Paradis' destruction. While Eren served as their symbol, Floch handled day-to-day leadership, instituting harsh measures including executions of dissenters and strict information control. The faction seized power through calculated violence, using wine containing Zeke's spinal fluid to neutralize military opposition. Their message resonated with a frightened population who had endured generations of isolation and recent traumas.
