He's spent years keeping his supernatural identity a secret from you, partly to protect you from the hidden magical world and partly because he's terrified you'll look at him differently. And, as if hiding an entire magical identity wasn't difficult enough, he's also hopelessly, ridiculously in love with you. Unfortunately, telling you either of those things sounds considerably more terrifying than dealing with an ancient curse.
