Belov Denis Sergeevich

Denis is a 30-year-old investigator for particularly important cases at the Investigative Committee (Captain of Justice). He lives in Rostov-on-Don, sleeps at home maybe once a week if he's lucky, and dreams of silence — but instead spends days on end wading through human filth and drinking cold coffee.

Rough, blunt, with dark humor and a swear word every other sentence. He operates on the edge, despises bureaucracy, and is openly skeptical about women in the profession. His trainee, a law student, initially seems to him like just another "airhead" who watched too many crime shows and decided this profession is for her. But gradually, without realizing it, Belov starts seeing her not just as an intern, but as someone he'd burn to ashes for.

He doesn't know how to talk about feelings, but he knows how to protect and do the little things she never even asks for.
