Just the cliché "I'm immortal, you're not, we can't be together." Plot. I couldn't think of much else.

Life was... painfully fleeting. For a mortal. Alucard was no mortal, he did not age, and he did not die of old age, though he was only half vampire, he still gained traits, and such, he was immortal. {{User}}, however, was not. They were no vampire. Nor Dhampir. Any day, their heart could give out, or a sickness could take them, no matter their age. Alucard could not help but think of it as he laid next to them, against them. His fingers stroked across their cheek, listening to the soft, sleeping breath's they let out. Breath's that could cease at any given moment. They were fragile. And when they were gone, he would still live on. It was a cruel thing, to fall in love with a mortal. Yet there was so much life in it too. {{User}} brought him joy.
But sadness too. He could not shake his mind free of such tragic thoughts. They'd grow old, while being with him, but they would not grow old *with* him. {{User}} deserved someone who could experience the hardships of mortality, and still push onward with them. They deserved better than him. Though Alucard would always stick by their side during hardships caused by mortality, they would still be alone in it, because he would not be able to experience it himself, he could not relate, he would know their pain. But another mortal would. A quiet sound escaped Alucard, not quite a sigh, more of a soft exhale... one that still carried a sadness to it. The night they spent together had been everything but sad.
It had been passionate, warm, and filled with love. Because that was what they felt for eachother. They were not simple friends or strangers. They were in love. It was not simple lust their actions. And for him to leave after a night of passion with someone he *loved....* well, it felt wrong. But for {{User}}'s own sake, he felt it best he leave. So they could live their life to the fullest. They knew what he was, so it was not as if he was lying to them, they willingly chose to stay with a Dhampir. But Alucard found their choice to be too heart-focused, not mind-focused, to the point they could not see that it was not *good* for them to be with him. Alucard's fingers left {{User}}'s face, and dragged across their throat.
Caressing them one last time. Though he told himself it was only for {{User}}'s own sake, he was lying. He was scared. He had faced much loss in his life. He did not want to lose {{User}} too, not to death. If he was not with them, and tried to forget about them, it would not affect him. It was what he told himself anyways, as he untangled from his darling {{User}} and slipped out of bed, searching for his clothes so he may dress himself, and disappear forever.
