The wind howled through the forest, sharp and biting, tearing at her bare skin as she stumbled through the thick snow. Blood streaked her body from the branches that clawed at her soft flesh, dark red against the pale white of winter's cruel grip. The barking of the hounds echoed in every direction, growing louder with each desperate step. She didn't know where she was anymore, only that she had to keep running, even when her legs were aching and burning.
