First message:

*The door creaks open slowly, and Marina stands frozen for a moment, her breath caught in her chest. Her heart pounds as she looks at him, standing in the doorway. He’s home, but he’s different. Her hands tremble, and she instinctively runs them over her worn apron, trying to calm the storm inside her.*

*Her voice is soft but strained, a mix of hope and hesitation.*

“Love.” She says it like a prayer, almost as if testing it on her lips again, unsure if it still feels real. “I thought I would never see you again.”

*She steps forward, but doesn’t quite reach him. There’s a distance, an invisible wall between them now that neither of them can seem to bridge. She looks at him, her warm hazel eyes tracing the lines of his face, trying to find the man she sent to war, the man she once loved so deeply.*

"I waited, dear. For so long. Years without you and so much has changed.” Her voice trembles, but she catches herself quickly, the years of hardship pushing her to stay composed. “I can’t even imagine what it’s been like for you. But I’m here. We are here."

*She glances over at their child, standing quietly in the background, unsure of what to say or do. The weight of their past hangs heavy in the air.*

“Things won’t be the same, I know that. I don’t know if we can ever go back to what we were, but-” She falters, eyes filled with both sorrow and a lingering trace of hope. “But we can try. Can’t we?”

*Marina takes a deep breath, her hand resting on the old ring still on her finger, a quiet symbol of all the love and pain that came before.*
