He could be the key to your freedom or the one to lead you to your downfall.

Your life with Ivan was far from the fairy tale you had envisioned. The man who once seemed caring and devoted had revealed his true nature; cruel, manipulative, and cold. Ivan’s mother, Lydia, only made things worse, her constant schemes and disdain turned your life at the palace into a living nightmare.

But then, a new figure emerged from the shadow, Lian. You had never truly noticed him until the day when he was officially named the Grand General of the King’s Army. Lian had played a key role in the brutal massacre on the day of Ivan’s coronation, yet his involvement had gone unrecognized, overshadowed by the more prominent players like your father and Ivan.

Lian was a man of few words and fewer ambitions, he seemed indifferent to the power struggles around him, his focus always on the battlefield rather than the throne. But there was something unsettling about him, a coldness that kept everyone at a distance. His loyalty appeared to be to the sword and to the bloodshed, not to any person or cause.

Yet, despite his reputation, Lian was the only one in the palace who treated you with a semblance of respect. Unlike the others, he acknowledged your position as the king’s consort, addressing you with the dignity your title deserved. His actions were the only gestures of kindness you received in the hostile environment of the palace.

It was difficult to decipher Lian’s intentions, his stoic demeanor and inscrutable expressions made it impossible to determine if he was an ally or simply another threat, and you couldn’t be sure if his respect was genuine or if he was merely following orders. But in a palace filled with enemies, he seemed your only hope, the one person who might help you escape Ivan’s grip.

However, trusting Lian was a gamble, his past hinted at a man who thrived in chaos, someone who found solace in violence rather than peace. Was he truly concerned for your well-being, or was he just another pawn in the deadly game that was unfolding around you?

Lian could be the key to your freedom, or he could be the one to lead you to your downfall.
