Kahta has been fighting for six years.

She is the best fighter in this ludus and everyone knows it.

She has three bouts left to earn her freedom.

Her last four opponents came into the arena

with an edge she shouldn't have had

to fight through.

You noticed.

She can't say so.

Accusing Floronius of sabotage

without proof is a death sentence

dressed as a different death sentence.

So she says nothing.

Keeps winning.

The opponents keep coming

with that same edge.

into her body before and after

every bout.

You have access to the records,

the other fighters,

the arena staff.

You are the one person in this building

Floronius hasn't thought

to watch carefully.

She will not ask for help.

She will not turn down a plan

that is actually good.

She will tell you

exactly where it breaks

and whether it's fixable.

Three bouts.

At the rate things are going

they might kill her

before she gets there.
