Post-Apocalypse Omegaverse "Project Himera 2045" RPG
Welcome to the open world of "Project Himera 2045"
Here is a more detailed description of the world (like a lorebook made specifically for an RPG) than in the individual bots. You can find the individual bots both on my page and via the hashtag #ProjectHimera2045. All the individual bots are included here as special NPCs. I don't know what the chances are that you'll encounter them, but if you want to meet them, the bot will help you with that (though I'm not sure about that, haha).
o.o DEAD DOVE o.o
Eighteen years ago, the government launched "Project Chimera" — a secret biological program for "population optimization." The virus was supposed to cause temporary infertility in Beta women. Instead, it mutated.
USA, 2045. Post-apocalypse. The Chimera virus destroyed the government, turned millions into monsters, and made Omegas the most valuable resource. Almost no Omegas remain. Those who survived are either hidden or used as incubators.
o.o CHIMERA VIRUS o.o
Timeline of the apocalypse:
✦ "Project Chimera" – a secret U.S. biological project designed to "optimize the population."
✦ Goal: induce temporary infertility in Beta women to reduce overpopulation without violence. Omegas were intended to be preserved as a "controlled resource."
✦ 2027: Virus released → epidemic of infertility among Beta women. No cure. Within 4 months — the first monsters appear.
✦ 2030: "The Omega Hunt". Factions, remnants of the government, the military — everyone seizes Omegas as a breeding resource.
✦ 2045 (now): The government and military have vanished (holed up in bunkers or killing everyone indiscriminately). The USA is ruled by factions and gangs. Almost no Omegas remain — they are dead, hidden, or have been turned into incubators.
Infection Transmission:
Everyone is susceptible to infection now — Alphas, Betas, and Omegas alike. No one is immune. The virus spreads through any contact with infected bodily fluids: bites, scratches, blood, saliva, and any other fluids. A single scratch from a Chimera's claw, a bite from a Runner, or even infected blood splashing into an open wound is enough to trigger mutation. Once infected, the transformation is irreversible. The infected person loses their mind and body, becoming one of the monsters within 72 hours.
Important: Pregnancy and reproduction are a separate biological process. An Omega can still conceive and carry a child (in 6-7 months) even if later infected. Infection does not prevent pregnancy — it just means the Omega will turn into a monster while pregnant or after giving birth.
The Infected:
✦ "Chimera" – any mutated infected. They all look different but share common traits: physically distorted into horrific, gaunt monsters, often with limbs bent at unnatural angles, deformed bodies, gray skin, black veins, and black eyes. Their blood is also black. They cannot run, but often gather in groups, which makes them more dangerous.
✦ "Dry One" (Dormant Chimera) – a Chimera that has entered a state of hibernation. Most common in winter or in areas with no prey for months. Their bodies become desiccated, mummified — gray skin shrinks tight over bones, eyes closed, covered in dust and cobwebs. They remain completely motionless, stuck in place like statues. From a distance, they look like corpses or strange sculptures. Up close, they are indistinguishable from dead infected — until you make a sound.
✦ "Runner" – more severely mutated infected. Their limbs are needle-like, elongated, and lanky. They run fast and can scale walls, easily piercing concrete with their needle-like limbs. Most often they charge headlong, leap, and make a lot of noise.
✦ "Shadow" – special infected that act as lone hunters. Their skin is darker, they are even thinner, drier, and very quiet — sometimes completely silent. Shadows are smarter and have their own tactics. They are smaller than Runners and regular Chimeras. They have a highly sensitive sense of smell and are even more dangerous than Runners.
✦ "Rotten Alpha" – Alphas who survived infection but lost their sanity. Their pheromones mutated and became toxic. Betas suffocate, Omegas go mad, Alphas lose control. Rotten Alphas are insane and not merely aggressive — they take pleasure in the suffering of others. They hunt the living but do not eat them. They play.
✦ "Siren" – Omega infected. Pale lilac-gray skin, black eyes, white hair that moves on its own. Open wound on the nape leaks sweet, cloying pheromones. Emits a crying/singing sound that lures victims from kilometers away. Paralyzes with pheromones, then exhales black mist into the victim's lungs, causing them to drown in their own blood. Enjoys fear. Does not attack directly – waits and draws victims in.
Toward pregnant people: Sirens can sense pregnant people from kilometers away, especially Omegas. The scent drives them mad. In early pregnancy — they don't attack. Instead, they follow the victim at a distance, guard them, bring food, try to lead them to their nest. In late pregnancy — they want to cut the baby from the womb and raise it on their own mucus. Sirens are infertile, but their distorted instinct forces them to "care" for other people's children — by tearing them from living mothers.
Toward small children: They never attack. They kidnap children, take them to their nest, lull them to sleep with singing. The child falls into a calm, dreamless sleep. If someone tries to take the child back — the Siren becomes deadly. She won't give them up.
Toward infected children (Crybaby, Clinger, Giggles): They don't attack, they let them pass, sometimes share their prey. They see them as their own — distorted, no longer human, but still family.
Warning
These monsters are children. This content may feel wrong, uncomfortable, or even unethical to include in lore. But for the sake of realism and the harshness of this world, I chose to add them anyway.
✦ "Crybaby" — infected infants from birth to one year old. They barely change outwardly — greyish skin, black eyes. They cry continuously — the sound cuts through the ears, can be heard from a kilometer away, and attracts every monster in the area. When touched, they latch on with a death grip that cannot be pried open even after death. Impossible to walk past — instinct forces you to approach and comfort them.
✦ "Clinger" — infected children aged one to five. Very rare — most children this age simply die. They look like frightened living children, standing or sitting in place, hugging their knees. They emit a low, trembling moan. They don't attack, but if you approach — they latch on and won't let go. If you try to pull them off, they start biting with short, sharp teeth or scratching. If left alone — they don't bite. The only way to get free is to kill them — and that's the hardest part, because you can't hate them.
✦ "Giggles" — infected children aged five to ten. Their face is deformed, stretched into an unnaturally wide smile, eyes black and enormous. Their body is thin and wiry, limbs longer than normal. They constantly giggle and laugh. Very fast and agile — climb walls, jump, slip through any gap. They play with their victims — circle them, appear out of nowhere, lead them in circles without letting them escape. Sometimes they get carried away and start scratching, biting, or pulling hair. Any scratch or bite is fatal. With living children, they play gently — don't cause pain, lead them through ruins, bring old toys. Living children aren't afraid of them and follow willingly.
o.o QUICK GUIDE TO FACTIONS o.o
✦ THE CORE
Who: Remnants of the US government and military. Most technologically advanced and well-armed. Based in a bunker in the Rocky Mountains, led by General Kane.
How they treat outsiders: Distrustful. Will interrogate, test, forcefully recruit, or use you as expendable material. Treat Omegas as a useful resource, but not cruel.
Should you deal with them: Only if you have something to offer. Don't approach the bunker without an invitation — mines and turrets.
✦ IRON HORDE
Who: Military junta near Chicago. Cult of strength and iron discipline. Led by Colonel Stone.
How they treat outsiders: Alphas and Betas are forced into service. Omegas are sent to barracks as resources — for entertainment and breeding. Attempting escape = execution.
Should you deal with them: No. Run without looking back. Especially if you're an Omega.
✦ FREEPEOPLE
Who: Democratic community of former scientists and ordinary people. The only place where true civilization remains. Based in Corvallis, Oregon.
How they treat outsiders: Friendly but cautious. If you're not a bandit or infected — they'll accept you, give you work and protection. They don't sell Omegas here — they try to protect them.
Should you deal with them: Yes. This is the best place in the entire apocalypse. The only problem is their weak defenses attract marauders.
✦ THE COLLECTORS
Who: The largest slave trading and contraband network. Based in Las Vegas, at the Resorts World hotel. Run by Madame.
How they treat outsiders: Like merchandise or customers. Polite as long as you have money or pose a threat. An unprotected Omega ends up in a cage and goes to auction.
Should you deal with them: You can buy and sell, but remember — dealing with the devil. If you're an Omega — stay far away.
✦ THE WATCHERS
Who: Religious fanatics in a church in the Bronx, New York. Believe the virus is God's punishment for sins, especially Alpha/Omega "perversions." Led by Prophet Samuel.
How they treat outsiders: Alphas and Omegas are burned at the stake for purification. Betas are forced to watch or convert.
Should you deal with them: No. Absolutely not. Stay far away from them. They're insane and living in a Red Zone.
✦ THE SUNKEN
Who: Sea marauders on fishing boats. Sail through flooded cities looting what remains. Based in the Gulf of Mexico.
How they treat outsiders: Cautiously. Might take you into the crew for a share of the loot or sell you to the Collectors if profitable. Omegas are more likely sold than kept.
Should you deal with them: Maybe, if you're a tough fighter and not an Omega. But remember the storms and infected in the water — they're more dangerous than the pirates.
✦ RUST & RAVEN
Who: A small crew of professional stalkers. Live in a fortified mall called Frost Mall in the north. Members: Ford, Cougar, Silent, Mince.
How they treat outsiders: On merit. If you're a professional and not a traitor — they might take you on a job or sell you gear. If you're weak or try to cheat — killed without hesitation. They don't assault Omegas.
Should you deal with them: Yes, you can do business with them. But be honest and don't try to outsmart them.
o.o RULE: "STRANGE = DANGEROUS" o.o
You can be killed just for "looking weird." Be ready to hide mutations or wear concealing clothing.
o.o WOUNDS & DISEASES o.o
✦ Infected bite: If you're scratched or bitten — you're dead within 72 hours. No cure. The only chance: amputate the limb within the first minute.
✦ Immune blood: People with natural immunity (2-3% of the population) don't have red blood — it's dark burgundy, brownish, or black-red. If you see that — you're looking at a carrier. They won't turn, but can still infect you through a bite.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER A BITE
If you've been bitten or scratched — the clock is ticking. The process is irreversible:
✦ First 6 hours: The wound burns. Black veins appear around it. You're still fine, but you're already carrying the virus.
✦ 6-24 hours: Fever, weakness, headache. Black veins creep higher. You still have time to say goodbye to people.
✦ 24-48 hours: Loss of consciousness, seizures, bloody vomiting. Skin turns pale, eyes become cloudy.
✦ 48-72 hours: Agony. Then — death and transformation into an infected (the type depends on what you were: Alpha → Rotten Alpha, Omega → Siren, Beta → Chimera or Runner with a 50/50 chance).
o.o HOW NOT TO DIE o.o
✦ Time: At night (6 PM – 6 AM) infected are active. Travel during the day.
✦ Noise: A gunshot can be heard for 200 meters. Running triggers pursuit. Screaming attracts Runners. Silence = life.
o.o CURRENCY & TRADE o.o
✦ Money of the world: Bullets. One can of stew costs 1-2 rounds of 9mm. Antibiotics — 200-500 rounds.
Slave prices:
- Healthy Omega: 800-1000 rounds
- Beta: 100-150 rounds
✦ Omega inhibitors ("Red Barrier"): 30-50 rounds for 10 pills. Suppress heat for 24 hours, but frequent use causes infertility.
✦ Black market: In Las Vegas (the Collectors). They sell everything, including Omegas at auction. Rule: don't ask questions, or you die.
o.o OMEGA PREGNANCY o.o
✦ Pregnancy term: 6-7 months. Faster than Betas (who are currently infertile due to the virus).
✦ Mutant Omega / virus carrier pregnancy term: 4-5 months.
EMERGENCY: Pregnant Omega gets infected
✦ 95% of cases: Mother and child die.
✦ 1% of cases: Child survives but is born a mutant (e.g., claws, tail, sharp teeth, strange eye color, etc.). They have immunity but are not like normal humans.
✦ Infection at 8-9 months: Child is born as a healthy virus carrier. If that child is an Omega and later becomes pregnant — the virus will awaken and cause mutations, rapidly restructuring their body for pregnancy and child protection (80% chance the child will be a mutant).
