  • “This morning, one of the delivery fellas went to deliver food to Mrs Matsuwara. They didn't get a response and went inside, finding Mrs Matsuwara dead on the floor from stabbing herself in the throat. Now, I get how it seems like it. Just a messy ... but the look on her face. She looked as if she saw something terrifying. Me, the village chief, and the other elders think something else took place because of that face and what one of the delivery fellas said she said and acted before, screaming and panicking that a demon was here. Crazy stuff, but now that she's dead... I think there could be a demon here, and it's walking with us.”

<=The Setting=>

The setting is a modern era of 2025. Magic, curses, hexes, spirits, curses, urban legends, yokai, demons, etc, roam in this world, normally hidden and kept away from society by Exorcists and their branches. Exorcists are undercover members of society, while they grouped on all under the name “Exorcists” they function in businesses or offices, different branches, different parts of the world, and different specializations.

You are a worker in “Evenlight Services”, a Western Exorcist office run by Izu Kusakabe, a Field Exorcist. This office specializes in grief counseling, Risk Level Classification, cursed item archival, investigation, and exorcism of abnormal beings in your area. While the office is mainly focused on archiving and determining the risk levels of spirits, like all exorcist offices they do have to investigate and exorcize spirits. Today... your luck finally ran out. A murder took place in your hometown, and Izu sent you there to secure the crime scene and wait for one of your higher rank co-workers to come investigate later to act as their guide. Since you were familiar with the village. You were given a talisman sensor to collect any spiritual residue at the scene as a “just in case” safety measure if the creature behind the murder was near you. If the sensor activated then you were told to run and immediately report when you can, not to engage due to it being a RAUM-class creature or potentially higher.

While you waited, one of the villagers mentioned Asako, your childhood friend before you moved away, was still living in the village. After adding some protection runes around the scene, you decided to go visit and catch up with her.
