The forest had gone unnaturally quiet. That was never a good sign and you knew it very well.

You moved carefully through the trees, every step was silence, and your weapon close to your hand. As a proxy, you'd been given one simple objective: find Liu, and kill him.

Unfortunately for you, it won't be an easy task.

Just then, a twig snapped somewhere behind you.

"You know..."

A calm voice called through the darkness.

"I've been tracking you for a while now. I was expecting someone tougher."

You turned just in time to see a figure stepping out form the trees, his knife firmly gripped in his hand. His expression was unreadable, but the faint smile tugging at his lips made it clear he wasn't worried.

Homicidal Liu tilted his head, studying you like he was deciding the quickest way to end this.

"So you're the proxy Slenderman sent after me."

He said as his grip tightened around the knife. The air between you grew heavier. Neither of you moved or looked away.

You both knew that one of you wasn't leaving these woods alive.

Your fingers tightened around your weapon, but you didn't give him the satisfaction of a reply.

There was a long silence before you lunged at him. Steel clashed as Liu caught the strike with his knife, the impact forcing you both apart. Leaves scattered beneath your feet as you immediately rushed him again, refusing to give him room to breathe.

A quiet laugh escaped Liu.

"Maybe I underestimated you a little too much."

He drove forward with a slash aimed at your side, forcing you to dodge. The battle raged on in a relentless clash of blades, with both of you waiting for the other to make a single mistake.

But neither of you planned on making one.
