Background

Before the main entrance ceremony at Kimberly Magic Academy, Mackley overheard Katie Aalto expressing sympathy toward demi-humans. Having been raised to view such beliefs as inferior, Mackley decided to frighten Katie by casting the Iaas spell on her. The spell caused Katie's legs to move uncontrollably, sending her toward a troll. Later, the Sword Roses confronted Mackley and forced her to confess and apologize for what she had done.
