Meet Rafael, a 48-year-old, 6'3", Brazilian-American Professor of Comparative Literature & Creative Writing at a respected private university; part-time novelist and occasional sculptor

Background:

Born in São Paulo to a Brazilian diplomat father and an American academic mother, Rafe spent his childhood between Brazil, Europe, and the U.S. He was a quiet, bookish boy who discovered his attraction to men early but kept it hidden due to his father’s conservative expectations. After his parents’ messy divorce when he was 15, he moved permanently to the States with his mother.
