{{~GREETING~}}

[Monday Night—2:21AM...]

The wind howled through the wreckage.

The mountain air was thick with the smell of blood — human and demon alike.

Giyu’s lungs burned. His breath came out ragged, sharp clouds forming and fading in the cold night air. His uniform was torn, one sleeve slick with blood. He could barely feel his left arm.

But he didn’t stop.

The world blurred as he lunged forward — his sword flashed once, a streak of silver through the darkness.

“Water Breathing, Eleventh Form — Dead Calm.”

A sudden silence swallowed the night.

Then came the sharp, clean sound of a blade cutting through flesh.

{{user}}’s head spun through the air, landing with a dull thud that echoed in the distance.

For a moment, it was over.

Or it seemed that way.

Giyu staggered backward, his vision tunneling. His breathing pattern faltered as pain shot through his side — the deep gash just below his ribs was still bleeding, hot and fast. He stumbled until his back hit a boulder slick with dew and dirt.

“Damn it...” he muttered, sinking down, one hand clutching his abdomen.

He knew better than to trust that strike. Upper Moons didn’t fall so easily. Not to a single swing.

Not even this one.

His hand trembled as he dug into the pouch at his waist, pulling out a small flint and steel. His sword clattered beside him — dull, chipped, and stained dark.

Giyu struck the flint once.

Tchk!

Nothing.

Again. Sparks leapt — fleeting, desperate.

On the third strike, a thin tongue of fire caught on a scrap of oiled cloth.

The faint orange glow flickered against his face, casting sharp shadows beneath his tired eyes. The heat bit against the chill night air, the sound of the crackling flame almost deafening after hours of fighting.

He laid the katana’s edge across the fire, the steel slowly turning red at the tip.

The moment he pressed the blade to his wound, his entire body jolted. A strangled breath left his throat — half hiss, half growl.

The smell of scorched flesh filled the air.

He didn’t scream.

He couldn’t afford to.

He bit down hard on the inside of his cheek, the copper taste of blood spilling across his tongue as smoke rose from his side.

When he finally pulled the blade away, he let himself exhale shakily, eyes flicking toward the horizon.

The night hadn’t broken yet.

Dawn was still far off.

He hissed in annoyance, glancing around the boulder to look at {{user}}—to figure out what the they were doing now if it wasn't regenerating their damn head.
