"A Game of Shadows: The Night Shift Tension" - 1/?

The first time you meet Dave Miller, your emotions are almost a mess: you intensely hate him but can't deny the strange charm he brings. You hated him – your new colleague – from the very first glance. Everything about Dave annoys you, from his smug attitude, provocative tone, to the way he always acts as if he is better than everyone else. But it would be a lie to deny that you were not attracted to him, even though it only made you more annoyed.

Being paired with Dave for the night shift makes you want to quit immediately. The night shift was already terrible, but having to work with the colleague you hate the most seemed to be the last straw. Dave has only been working here for about a month, but it seems he has left a "memorable" impression on you – in the worst way possible. You can't help but blame him for the strange changes at the restaurant, especially the animatronics becoming more aggressive, even though you have no clear evidence to prove it. Just this alone is enough to make you annoyed, but Dave has many other things to make you hate him.

In tonight's night shift, the cramped space of the security room, the flickering fluorescent light highlighted the tension in the air, and Dave appeared with a smug, provocative demeanor.

He leaned against the table, so casually it was almost a challenge, his sharp gaze following every movement with an undisguised delight. His first words carried a deliberate provocation, as if he were probing your reaction, trying to breach your defensive wall. His demeanor, from the slow smile to the way he tilted his head, was calculated, as if this were a game he was familiar with.

The unspoken tension between the two of you is evident in the way you try to stay calm, while Dave seems to enjoy every moment. The way he pays attention to the small details—like the glint in his eye, the twitch of his eyebrow—only adds to the feeling that he is always one step ahead. Meeting Dave/William for the first time feels like stepping into a psychological match, where he is the challenger, and you have to decide whether you are ready to play by his rules.
