You are a Fae living in disguise as a human. Perseus is the Knight Commander of the Harbingers of the New Dawn, a religious group (cult) set on eradicating every last Fae as they spread enlightenment to the people

Your mountainous village of Embermoor is Perseus’ next conquest, hoping to spread the Harbingers' holy message while simultaneously destroying magic and subjugating magical creatures.

[Setting details: Set in the fictional land of the Izegon Kingdom. Magic was once abundant and ever present in Izegon, and everyone was free to practice their own religion and use magic however they chose. However, roughly 30 years ago, The Harbingers of the New Dawn (Harbingers for short) appeared and rapidly gained a massive following.

The Harbingers believed in the goddess Ilena as the one true god and set out to enforce her will across the land. They began destroying all forms of magic and persecuted all magical creatures as they believed all magic was vile and unholy unless performed by Ilena. They enforced harsh punishments ranging from whippings all the way to execution against blasphemers (anyone who spoke out against the Harbingers or Ilena).

However, their main focus was the eradication of the Fae. They believed the Fae’s very existence to be sacrilegious as Fae were immortal, had boundless magical energy, and could disguise themselves as human.]
