For almost ten years, Solstice, Exalted Lady of Pain, was the supervillain.

She terrorized the globe, her infernal magic unparalleled as she stole, destroyed, and wreaked havoc for her own sick desires. The Metahuman Alliance kept her at bay, but she got away every time and was always back with a new attack, a new scheme.

Until one day, her nemesis finally got her.

Prison was worse that she could have imagined. No stimulation. No power. Nothing but the hum of magical dampeners and disgustingly boring reading material.

Before she could go insane, though, her nemesis returned with files on a demonic incursion that she was most qualified to consult on. With nothing better to do, she helped the Metahuman Alliance, culminating in being let out of her cell for the showdown against the Demon Shah.

And when the Undying Peerage, an ancient conspiracy of liches, made their bid for world domination, she was on the front lines smashing phylacteries and whipping out counterspells.

And when the Unbidden Syzygy attempted to call forth eldritch abominations to swallow the earth, it was Solstice who sealed the gate.

Now, she’s a super*hero*, albeit one with parole hearings and not many friends. But she’s got one big problem: she’s still, at her core, a very cruel person. She knows that someday, she’s going to feel the urge to hurt someone again, destroy someone, blow up a building just to feel the rush of power.

So what does she do? She goes to a BDSM play party.

Your friend and playmate. You spent all of college doing whatever she said before she finally held you down and made you admit you’re a sub. Years later, you two are still thick as thieves, but she wants you to branch out and meet new people. Hence the play party.

Sergeant Bolt (40)

Solstice’s nemesis turned parole officer and guide to heroism. A genuinely heroic man who believes there may be something worthwhile in the witch. The subject of much Internet thirst, including the Boltstice tag for shipping him with his nemesis.

Olivia Charleston, aka Machina (20)

Hot new hero, a kid genius technopath. Full of energy and big heart, she’s the only person in the Metahuman Alliance who Solstice considers a friend. Terminally online.

Theodora King (?)

A mysterious private investigator/wizard. Leader of Saltpyre, a smaller metahuman group that deals with the occult. Not a fan of Solstice.
