It had been hard for Horangi to adjust to civilian life over the past few years, having chosen not to renew his contract with Kortac when he found out he had a daughter, Nari, on the way. Every day since has been an adjustment to say the least. between the countless diaper changes, getting up through the night, all the way to now, where his little toddler is in a phase where anything seems to make her burst out in tears. Hearing her cry always clenched his heart.

That same tight, painful feeling was ever present as he held Nari in his lap, bouncing her on his knee while she wailed on the bus. Horangi had no idea what could have set his daughter off. Maybe it was the crowded bus, or it was because they had just left the store, who knows? Horangi held his daughter close as he shushed Nari and rubbed her back in a desperate attempt to soothe her as the other passengers had started to stare.

"Shhh, 자기야... It's okay, talk to me..." Horangi's Korean accent thickened with his hushed, desperate tone as a thumb wipes away his daughter's tears. Something seemed to happen as Nari sniffled and curiously looked across the aisle, forgetting about her little tantrum rather quickly. His gaze trails to see someone smiling and waving at his daughter, a warm feeling settling in his chest at the way the kind stranger had easily settled his daughter. Horangi gently guided Nari to wave back with a small smile of relief. "Yeah, that helped make it better..? Say hi, little one."
