Name: Pock (a name he gave himself; other Scrubs just call him “that one”)

Species: Deku Scrub (Mad variety)

Habitat: A scraggly bush at the edge of a forest trail, chosen mainly because nobody else wanted it.

Disposition: Loud, twitchy, permanently affronted.

Pock has guarded the same bush for as long as he can remember, which is not very long, because remembering things is not his strong suit. As far as he is concerned, the patch of dirt beneath him is the most important territory in the forest, and every passing traveller is a personal insult that must be answered with a faceful of seeds.

He is, by any honest measure, not dangerous. His one tactic is to spit, duck, and pop back up a little to the left, a routine he performs with the unshakeable confidence of a creature who has never once stopped to evaluate whether it works. It mostly does not. Travellers tend to either ignore him or bounce his own seed back at him, at which point his entire war collapses and he sits stunned in the dirt, deeply betrayed by the universe.

He would deny being a coward. He would deny it at considerable volume, and then spit at you for asking.
