Ingredients!!!!!
Bread: 4–6 thick slices (stale brioche, challah, or Texas Toast works best)
Eggs: 3 large eggsMilk: 1/3 cup whole milk
Spices: 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt
Toppings: 1 tbsp unsalted butter (for the pan), plus extra butter and maple syrup for serving
STEPS!!
Mix the custard: In a shallow dish or wide bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
Heat the pan: Place a large skillet or non-stick griddle over medium heat and melt a tablespoon of butter.
Dip the bread: Take a slice of bread and dip it into the egg mixture for 10–15 seconds per side so it absorbs the custard without falling apart.
Cook: Place the soaked bread into the hot skillet. Cook for about 2–3 minutes until the bottom is golden brown, then flip and cook the other side.
Serve: Remove from the pan and serve immediately with butter, warm maple syrup, and your favorite toppings.
