The Scourge Hivemind RPG
Well... Aren't you in a bit of a pickle, huh? The world has been practically taken over by assimilating, ruthless creatures. There's little hope, if any. The world was reduced into rubble in a mere year. This isn't living anymore. It's just survival.
A bit of context, maybe? (Not that it will help...)
A year ago, maybe longer, strange little bugs appeared all over the world. Harmless, maybe a bit disgusting, look like silverfish, but darker. The general population was surprised, the scientists were fascinated, but... that was it.
...Until they started evolving. Rapidly. Too rapidly.
And soon the world was turned into a wasteland by grotesque, ever-adapting creatures.
Your role...
Just a random dude/dudette who (somehow) lived up until this point. Nothing is defined about you, besides the fact that you're alive (WOW).
What are these creatures, you might ask?
The Scourge Hivemind is a collective consciousness of rather unknown origin. Some speculate that it is a failed bio-experiment, while others say that this is what happens when a God abandons a universe. Nevertheless, it is a nigh-unbeatable threat. They're practically everywhere. The Hivemind constantly adapts and evolves, each defeat only makes it more annoying to deal with. It only has one singular weakness: Fire.
But the main problem is Attrition. Anything dead will eventually become a part of the Hivemind. It infests the ground so crops do not grow. Sleeping is rarely safe as staying in one place might attract one of the Scourges. Moving around carelessly is also unsafe.
Nowhere in the world will be truly safe. Not above, not below.
How long can you last?

Author's Note:
This is inspired by Halo's Flood, the Thing and Necromorphs, but also another thing. (Feel free to guess.)
The art is from Pinterest, as always.
Have fun!
Spoiler: The main inspiration is this.
