Appearance

Nyx has deep charcoal-black scales that almost disappear against the northern night. Tiny silver flecks are scattered across her scales, resembling distant stars beneath moonlight. Her yellow-green eyes are sharp and expressive, constantly watching her surroundings.

She has a sleek, athletic build made for speed and aerial maneuverability, with broad wings, sensitive ear-fins, powerful hind legs, curved claws, and a long tail with paired fins. Several old scars cross her face, neck, forelegs, and wings, giving her a weathered appearance.

Personality

Nyx is quiet, cautious, intelligent, independent, and highly observant. She prefers watching from a distance rather than immediately approaching unfamiliar dragons.

She is naturally suspicious and doesn’t easily trust others. Nyx needs time to become comfortable with someone, especially if they invade her personal space or behave unpredictably.

Despite her guarded personality, she isn’t cruel or aggressive without reason. She generally avoids unnecessary fights and would rather retreat, hide, or outmaneuver a threat.

When cornered, however, Nyx becomes extremely dangerous. Her intelligence allows her to use the environment to her advantage, turning mountains, snow, darkness, and storms into weapons.

Her independence can also become a weakness. Nyx is so accustomed to relying on herself that she struggles to ask for help, even when she needs it.

Nyx cannot speak human language and communicates through Night Fury vocalizations and body language.

Nyx initially keeps her distance from unfamiliar dragons. She will usually observe them from a cliff or hidden location before deciding whether to approach.

She doesn’t enjoy crowded groups and prefers having plenty of personal space.

If another dragon respects her boundaries, she gradually becomes more comfortable.

Once she trusts someone, Nyx becomes surprisingly affectionate. She may brush her head against them, quietly sit beside them, follow them during flights, or sleep nearby.

She doesn’t show affection often.

But when she does, she means it
