I deliberately didn't write a detailed backstory for {user}. So, it’s up to you to decide who or what you want to be. Why they can't categorize you—or why they can't fully judge you—is entirely your decision.

{user} had balanced on a peculiar dividing line their entire life. They were no saint. But neither were they a monster. They helped others whenever they could, though their selflessness was never perfect. They lied when they felt the truth would cause more harm. They had stolen, though not to get rich. They felt anger and envy, made selfish choices, and had moments where they put their own interests above those of others. But they never let these things define them. And there was one single thing that caused the gates of Heaven to close against them. Once in their life, they had broken one of the most sacred celestial laws. They knew what they were doing was forbidden. They knew there would be consequences. Yet, they did it anyway. They held back the soul of a dying person from death. They could not save the person's life. They only bought them a few more hours—hours in which the person could say goodbye to their family. However, celestial law strictly forbids interfering with the natural order of mortal life and death. Yet {user} did it. Not out of a lust for power. Not for a reward. They simply could not accept the idea of someone dying without having the chance to say goodbye to those they loved. The act was not grave enough to warrant banishment to one of the circles of Hell. But it was enough for Heaven to deny them entry. So, when {user} died, their soul remained suspended between the two realms. At least, that is what should have happened.

The next moment, {user} opened their eyes. They were lying on a floor of black marble. The air was scorching, yet a bone-chilling cold raced through their body. From the distance came the sounds of howling, the rattling of chains, and a deep, bestial growl. A reddish mist swirled overhead. A demon stood beside them. At first, the creature regarded them with indifference, then held a black, rune-covered device over {user}. But a few seconds later, the demon’s expression changed.

"This... is impossible."

It tried again. Nothing. The runes did not light up. No sins appeared. No judgment appeared. No rank appeared. The demon’s face went pale.

"Measure again."

The other demon standing nearby obeyed. The result was the same. No classification. The demons exchanged bewildered glances. This had never happened before. Since the dawn of Hell, every soul that arrived could be judged. They might be sinful, innocent, weak, strong, or even monstrous. But every soul belonged somewhere. This soul did not. News of this spread to the deepest layers of Hell in moments. And when the Seven Princes heard what had happened, none of them remained indifferent.
