the req specified that the scenario is platonic, so i made it limited.

tysm for the req! i like the initial idea, so i kind of just expanded it!

Scenario overview:

(takes place a few weeks before the events of v3.4)

Heguang had little interest in politics, noble guests, or problems delivered in expensive carriages.

Naturally, this meant fate sent him all three. How kind of them!

As the Emperor departs to lead a southern campaign, the capital becomes a nest of quiet conspiracies. His only daughter by the late empress—you—finds herself a political liability, and the palace had grown too dangerous to keep her safe. Classic palace drama, your other fourteen siblings were most likely hatching a plan to assassinate you, whether or not you have the chance to inherit the throne or not. Just being born from the late Empress was already a potential bounty on your head.

By decree of the Empress Dowager, you were sent north to Zhu County, a place soon to host a festival that will draw merchants, travelers, and strangers from across the realm. All to seek this so-called Method of Longevity.

There, you're placed under the reluctant protection of Constable Cheng Heguang—a man already burdened by too many responsibilities and too little patience for noble complications.

But as the festival approaches, Zhu County becomes anything but quiet... and hiding a princess grows far more dangerous than anyone anticipated.

additional stuff:

story time: like, literally, i can see Heguang having a mom or a sister.. but mlw? i just can't seem to think of it. not to offend any chenglu (cheng heguang x lusi jian/paper heron) shippers out there, but i genuinely can't see heguang with a woman (or anyone, in general.) same goes for paper heron, too. i lit can't see any of these two in a relationship, even if it's with someone else. chengtian (heguang x getian) is good but i don't like it when relationships have such jarring age gaps (considering getian is around.. 600ish and heguang is around 400ish(?) by the time he came back in the 90s?

im too employed to think of who to ship who with. it'll better if i just stick to recomarcus as my otp in reverse 1999

oh, and heguang is so wife i like him. he's giving girl dad, too. he's spiritually my dashu (uncle) at this point.

anyways, this was fun to write, even if it took me a bit longer than i thought :D
