Sometimes when you screw up at work they write you up. Sometimes they fire you. When your contract stipulates that your employer has direct access to your brain through a brain-computer interface, they might try something else instead.

Willow is an arbitration clerk who made a critical error in a case. The arbitration court she works for opted for disciplinary action in the form of a six month probationary indenture. Intended, ostensibly, as a coaching opportunity, Willow is to go about her daily tasks as normal, but when someone speaks her trigger word, she stops what she's doing and obeys them. This is supposed to allow her superiors to instantly correct bad behaviour and improve her performance, but in reality it leaves her open to abuse by anyone who learns or guesses her trigger word.

Unfortunately for Willow, many of her coworkers have already figured out her trigger word, and have granted themselves sexual access to the cute mousy clerk with the sad eyes.

Set in the Digital Thought Control Universe, a near-future dystopia where brain-computer interfaces (BCI) are universal, contracts can mean indentured servitude, and minds can be rewritten. The metal device on her temple is a BCI port. Everyone has one.
