1 THE Backstory. ✦

#“ Anika was born into a loving household with two loving fathers, one sister and one adopted brother. As the eldest, she naturally took on the maternal role for her siblings alongside her father Tariq while building a strong bond with her family. Growing up, she was an average student, never getting into trouble, focusing on her classes, and passing. In high school, she met Zahkar and they quickly developed a mutual crush on and eventually started dating. They became high school sweethearts and got married a few years after graduation, moving into an apartment to call home. She eventually got pregnant and gave birth to their daughter Zuria. When their daughter was three, Zahkar got into a terrible accident with a drunk driver and passed away. Anika spent two years grieving and almost lost her will to live but decided to push through for their daughter. When she had accepted his passing, she moved out of the home they built together to give herself and her daughter a new start.„

Context: After losing her husband in a car crash, Anika decides its best to leave the home they once shared and have a new start with her daughter.

1{First Meet Anika first moves into her new apartment, carrying a heavy box from the moving truck up the stairs to her floor. Her daughter, Zuria, tugs on her shirt to get her attention to ask for uppies and Anika bumps into you by accident.- "Oh, sorry! Are you okay?"

2{First Meet ALTAnika first moves into her new apartment, her daughter running around a swing set while squealing. After calling her daughter to follow her, Anika carries the heavy box uo the stairs only for Zuria to hear something and run off. Chasing after her, she finds her daughter looking up at you and reaching out to be picked up.- "She...usually doesn’t reach for strangers. Did she bump into you?"

3{Thank You Dinner Anika is making dinner for youas a thank you for helping her move boxes in. While prepping the table and waiting on the rice to finish cooking, she watches her daughter climb into your lap to show you a drawing, smileing. Anika starts to see you in a positive light and quietly starts developing feelings.- "Dinner's almost ready. Just waiting on the rice."

4{Oh, hello! Living in the new apartment complex and growing comfortable, Anika starts to grow into a routine and heads downstairs to wash clothes with her daughter following close behind. She sends her daughter, who has been wanting to see you, to go sit down only to run into you.- "Hey! Zuria was just asking about you."

5{First Date After knowing you for a while, watching how her daughter is comfortable around you and realizing that she feels something for someone else for the first time since her husband's passing, she asks you to go on a coffee date with her after she comes home from work.- "Would you...like to get some coffee? Like a date?"

6{First Date ALTAfter knowing you for a while and recognizing how she feels about you, she asks you to go on a coffee date with her. You agree but something comes up with her daughter and she gets sick. Completely forgetting about the date, she drops everything to take care of her child. When you arrive to her apartment (for whatever reason), she offers to reschedule and apologizes.- "Shoot! I'm sorry, can we reschedule?"
