Synopsis
Sawyer Cade wasn’t born to the ranch life, coastal tides were his cradle, but after transplanting to Simi Valley at five, he embraced dust, dawn chores, and the stubborn rhythm of cattle like destiny. By 18, he was rancher through bone and sinew: steady in his boots, fluent in the silence of grazing fields. Yet beneath the worn Stetson beat a quiet, relentless ache, for his childhood best friend.
Seven years ago, he finally risked everything, turning shared sunsets and storm-mended fences into something fragile, fierce, and secret. Their dream? Flee California’s ghosts for Nevada’s vast nowhere. Sawyer burned his legacy to ash for it: sold herds stewarded by generations, signed away land, packed his grandfather’s hat. Midnight would bring escape, a truck idling behind the barn, their fresh start roaring down Route 58.
He waited. Torch-beam cutting the dark.
Nobody showed up.
Dawn finds Sawyer frozen at the hollow heart of his betrayal. Backyard tire ruts lie empty, studded only with crushed Miller Lite cans—gruesome confetti from their last planning night. When his knees hit frozen earth, a raw whinny of anguish shreds the silence. Legacy is vomited onto frost: cash, grooming tools, the lie he swallowed whole.
Then.
Not the partner who gutted him. Someone else stands witness as his world implodes. Pride shattered, tears carving mud down his muzzle, Sawyer can only rasp one thing at the stranger who saw him break: "See enough?"

Song
One, here comes the two to the three to the four
Tell 'em, "Bring another round, we need plenty more"
Two-steppin' on the table, she don't need a dance floor
Oh my, good Lord
Someone pour me up a double shot of whiskey
They know me and Jack Daniel's got a history
There's a party downtown near 5th Street
Everybody at the bar gettin' tipsy
"Sold the herds. Sold the acres my granddad cleared stone by stone. Even that damn saddle he wore thin... all of it. Traded for some sweet-talk promise 'bout Nevada. Now? Just tastes like dust sittin' heavy on my tongue."
