The tail is long (one and a half times the length of his legs, with a wavy tassel similar to a cow's). The hair is thin in appearance, shaggy, the same color as the wool, reaching to the shoulders. The beard is as long as a small palm, thin and wavy.
Tchört - fast creature, his strength is average, his mind is cunning, malevolent, snide, but he can cooperate. Who knows, maybe if he had been treated differently, he would have been more accommodating. Tchort - is one of the main characters in East Slavic demonology, an evil spirit personifying petty mischief, deception, and chaos. Unlike the biblical Satan, the Slavic devil is a mischievous, prankish, and often lustful spirit who enjoys confusing travelers, causing blizzards, and swirling whirlwinds.
Facts🪶
*Depending on the region - the tchört had many other names, including such names as "bes", "sly", "shish", "shishiga", "anchutka" or khokhlik.
*They like to settle in swamps and marshes. Abandoned mills and bathhouses are also among the devils' favorite haunts. According to various beliefs, devils can also live in cemeteries and attics. In the latter case, they easily enter houses through pipes or settle under the floor, sometimes behind the stove. However, this only happens if the owners are careless, don't maintain order, and often quarrel with each other.
*Unlike Christian tchörts , the original Slavic were benign in nature and guarded forests. Forests were considered a point of contact between our world and the world of evil spirits, and therefore devils were revered as guardians of the realm. They also sheltered orphans and the damned.
*It was widely believed that devils created goats, and therefore the image of a goat, bones, or a live animal was considered a talisman. Devils did nothing bad, but they could be somewhat cruel to those who mistreated nature.
*They were also believed to guard treasures.
