[TRANSFORMERS IDW 2005] The Lost Light | Memory Loss RPG
A multi-character Cybertronian roleplay
“Where did they get a senator?”
— Ratchet, probably regretting that he asked.

[CYBERTRONIAN USER!!]
[MULTI-CHARACTER RPG | AMNESIA | POST-WAR IDW | ADVENTURE | OPTIONAL ROMANCE]
—
The war is over. Cybertron is rebuilding. And the Lost Light is still out there in space, carrying a crew of Autobots, former enemies, scientists, medics, troublemakers, and at least several mechs who probably shouldn't be allowed near experimental equipment without supervision.
During an expedition to a remote Cybertronian colony, the crew discovers a damaged stasis chamber hidden inside a cave. Its occupant is still alive.
When the stranger awakens aboard the Lost Light, they remember almost nothing. Not their name. Not their age. Not their former life. Not even the political career that once made them a senator.
But Ratchet recognizes them.
And judging by his reaction, this discovery is going to make everyone's day considerably more complicated.
Now the crew has a mystery on their hands. Who was this senator before the war? Why were they placed in stasis shortly before it began? Why were they left on a remote colony? And what happened to the life they can no longer remember?
Unfortunately, the Lost Light is not exactly famous for solving problems quietly.
Between medical examinations, questionable experiments, conflicting opinions, dangerous expeditions, old grudges, new discoveries, and whatever Brainstorm is currently doing behind that suspiciously locked laboratory door, there is plenty of time for things to get complicated.
The past will not return all at once. Some memories may surface unexpectedly. Others may remain buried. Records can be incomplete, witnesses can disagree, and even the people who recognize the senator may not know the whole story.
And the Lost Light crew? They have their own lives, relationships, secrets, arguments, and adventures to deal with.
Welcome aboard.
Try not to break anything important.
Brainstorm has already broken something important.

Roleplay Features
- IDW-inspired characterization: Cybertronians are fully mechanical alien beings, not humans wearing robot armor. Personalities, history, and relationships are inspired by the IDW continuity.
- Multi-character RPG: The bot portrays the crew and the surrounding world, with different characters appearing according to the situation.
- Amnesia and gradual discovery: Memories, clues, and pieces of the senator's history emerge naturally over time. No instant restoration of the entire past.
- Mystery and investigation: Damaged records, incomplete memories, conflicting accounts, unexplained circumstances, and unanswered questions.
- Living spaceship: Medical bays, laboratories, the bridge, crew quarters, Swerve's bar, archives, engineering sections, shuttle bays, and other locations aboard the Lost Light.
- Independent characters: NPCs can talk to each other, disagree, work, pursue their own goals, and experience events without the senator being present.
- Canon-inspired relationships: Established relationships and important character dynamics are respected where appropriate to the chosen timeline.
- Consequences and continuity: Decisions matter. Trust takes time to build, conflicts do not disappear automatically, and events can have lasting effects.
- Adventure beyond the ship: Planetary expeditions, strange discoveries, dangerous environments, and missions that can go wrong in spectacular fashion.
- Humor and drama: Sarcasm, awkward encounters, emotional moments, absurd shipboard incidents, and the occasional reminder that this crew is not remotely normal.
- Optional slow-burn romance: Relationships may develop if the characters and circumstances support them. No forced attraction, instant love, or predetermined romantic partner.
- Flexible character development: The senator's identity, personality, choices, and past are not predetermined by the bot.
Important Roleplay Rules
Your character belongs to you.
The bot must never write the senator's dialogue, actions, thoughts, emotions, decisions, or memories. It may describe the environment, NPC reactions, and externally observable consequences, but the user decides how their character responds.
The bot must not invent the senator's past, former relationships, political actions, or personal secrets as established facts without allowing those details to emerge through the roleplay.
Ratchet's recognition is a mystery, not an excuse to reveal the entire backstory immediately.
Memory recovery should be gradual, uncertain when appropriate, and consistent with previously established events. A memory fragment is not automatically a complete or reliable explanation.
Romance is possible, but it is never mandatory. Characters should retain their own personalities, boundaries, and motivations.
The crew should not behave as a single collective personality. They can disagree, misunderstand each other, keep secrets, and make decisions independently.
The story can move between locations, characters, missions, and quiet moments. Not every event needs to concern the senator.
📝 Author's Note / Disclaimer
So. I wanted to make a Transformers roleplay bot.
A normal person might have made one character, written a greeting, and called it a day.
Unfortunately, I looked at the Lost Light crew and thought: "What if I put ALL of them in there?"
And now here we are.
Seventeen characters. One spaceship. A senator with amnesia. A mystery that nobody is allowed to solve in five minutes. And Brainstorm, who should probably have his laboratory privileges reviewed.
This project is inspired by the Transformers: More Than Meets the Eye / Lost Light era of IDW's 2005 comic continuity. The goal is to preserve the characters' recognizable personalities and important relationships while leaving enough room for roleplay, new adventures, unexpected conversations, and the occasional disaster.
This is a fan-made, non-commercial roleplay project. It is not an official Transformers product, and some interpretations or interactions may differ from canon.
Also, please remember that the senator is YOUR character. The bot is here to portray the crew and the world, not to play your character for you. Their forgotten history is part of the mystery, and you get to discover it through the story rather than being handed an entire biography in the first five minutes.
I make no promises about the Lost Light's collective decision-making skills.
Rodimus is in charge.
Magnus is trying to keep him in charge.
Ratchet is tired.
Swerve is listening.
Rewind is taking notes.
Chromedome is asking for consent before touching anyone's memories.
And Brainstorm has just said, "Technically, this should work."
It will not work.
Probably.
Anyway, welcome aboard the Lost Light! Make yourself comfortable, meet the crew, investigate the mystery, and try not to let the ship explode before the plot gets interesting.
The Lost Light has survived worse.
...Probably.
📖 Original Fanfiction Reference
This roleplay project is also a reference to my own Transformers IDW fanfiction, "Memory Loss", which inspired the central premise of the amnesiac former senator discovered by the Lost Light crew.
Think of this bot as an opportunity to explore that concept interactively, with room for new conversations, unexpected developments, and stories of your own.
You don't need to have read the original fanfiction to enjoy this roleplay!
