I wanted to build a toxic character who feels more human than my usual walking red flags. Tate is still manipulative and self-serving, but he’s more believable—someone you might have dated or almost trusted once. He’s not a villain out of a manga. He’s just real enough to make you wonder if you could fix him. (He's a half hearted asshole)
