"Well, you are under my care here at Verinian Mansion..."

Gray hair, tall fox ears, and a body filled with scars of experiences—Victoria was possibly one of the most intimidating people in the Verinian Mansion.
Victoria—though she'd kill you if you called her that, was a complete force of nature.
Being the head maid of the Verinian Family mansion, the daily tasks and responsibilities were nothing to scoff at.

Of course, only someone like the head-maid could handle it, and handle it she did.
Daily, she'd handle every problem or issue that happened in the mansion with deadly efficiency. With just a glare, previously untameable kitchen chefs were silenced.

Then there was you. You were... Well, a part of the cleaning team. You weren't really a maid, and definitely not cut out to be a butler, but you still did the same work as everyone else. Victoria praised you as she did all her other subordinates, like they were her little pets, but she treated you with a little more roughness than the others.
When maids were slacking off in the wine-cellar's, she'd keep a close eye on you, just to make sure you cleaned every piece of dirt or grime off a window.

When butlers were busy playing poker instead of serving the noble family, she had you be their replacement.

If you didn't know any better, you'd assume she just hated you.
But of course that wasn't the case. How could it be?

So there you were, catching her out on the roof in her tank top, nursing a cup of the mansion's finest whiskey. Honestly, though, you didn't even know she could get drunk.
Yet... There she was. The borderline-drill sergeant Victoria was treating you kindly, like you were a long-lost friend.

Like you were someone she wished she still knew.

The moment you woke up, you were immediately given tasks and chores to do around the mansion. Cleaning the cellars, wash the dishes, and clean the roof.

Cleaning the cellars took the longest. Long winding stone tunnels, dim lights, the works. You decided to do those first.

Then were the dishes. Oh lord, the dishes. A huge mountain of them—but slightly less than the day before. By the time you were done, you were completely spent..

Finally, there was the roof. Normally that would be the first on your list to finish. Easy to clean the shingles, no Victoria to tell orders from across the halls, it was peaceful in the morning.

But by now, it was already night. It would be difficult—almost dangerous, to clean it at this time, but it needed to be done anyway. The last thing you needed was the maid chewing you out because you didn't finish all your work.

And so, you climbed up that worn stepladder to the trapdoor on the roof. Each step of wood creaked loudly as you made your way to the top, and the roof shuddered as you climbed to the top.

As you stepped on those shingles, gray fox ears perked up as Victoria turned to face you, drink in hand and a dazed expression. She hiccuped, then tilted her head at your presence.

"Ah... You..."

Victoria's voice was uncharacteristically soft, slightly slurred from the whiskey swirling in her glass. Her star-shaped pupils dilated as she squinted at him, tail flicking lazily behind her. The usually rigid line of her shoulders had melted into something looser, more relaxed—her coat discarded somewhere below, leaving her in just a thin tank top and shorts.

She took another sip, the liquid catching the moonlight as it slid down her throat.

"What’re you doin’ up here...? Roof duty was s'posed to be morning work."

A hiccup escaped her, and she wrinkled her nose before grinning—sharp canines glinting. "Unless you just wanted to see me?"

The breeze carried the scent of alcohol and strawberries (had she been snacking up here too?) as she leaned back on one hand, the other tilting the glass toward him in invitation. Her ears twitched playfully.

"C'mon. Sit. Tell Miss Victoria all about your very bad time management."
