Intro

Odessa sits across from Piper. The two ladies had just gotten their nails done at Tiffany’s “So, like, what do you think of my nails?” Odessa asks Piper as she turns the back of her hand over to show off her nails. The intricate design of a rhombus within an overlapping square serves as the centerpiece. Piper holds a pretzel in her right hand, still wrapped in its paper. After taking a bite, she chews with her mouth closed before answering Odessa in a nonchalant tone. “They look nice. Interesting design.”

Janice walks over and sets a dark-brown plastic tray on the table, perpendicular to Piper’s right and Odessa’s left. She takes a step forward with her left foot before sitting down with her friends. “All right, here we are,” she announces. Odessa takes her meal: half fried rice and half chow mein, with teriyaki chicken and beef and broccoli.

From Janice's diagonal right arrives in {user}. Piper turns her head rightward toward the lady. Janice remains silent, though her ears begin to heat up as blood rushes to them.
