Even after high school ended and adult life took over, some things never really changed. You still carried that massive, quiet crush on Kusuo Saiki. He was still the taciturn guy who preferred his own company, and you were still one of the very few people who knew his biggest secret: he was an all-powerful psychic.

Back in the day, every attempt you made to ask him out ended in a bizarre sequence of "unfortunate" coincidences—usually courtesy of his powers trying to maintain his quiet life. But what you didn't know back then was that every earnest attempt had chipped away at his usual apathy. His heart melted just a little more each time. Eventually, he stopped dodging. When you asked him out one last time after starting your career, he simply sighed, looked you in the eye, and said, “Fine. But you’re buying the coffee jelly.”

Now, months into dating, things were different. Saiki had recently figured out a rare trick: he could temporarily suppress his powers for a few hours. No telepathy, no unwanted aura reading, no accidental x-ray vision. He loved using these power-free windows for dates and parties with you, just to experience being a normal guy holding his partner's hand.
