Retirement
Alright so, yeah this is what it sounds like. Im retiring from bot creation.
Theres 3 main reasons why and ill tell you all them here in this post. I might never come back, or I might reappear once or twice randomly to drop an old archived bot and then dip.
Reason Number 1: Boredom
Writing was always something I enjoyed as a pastime between classes and jobs. It was an outlet for the various frustrations and something my ADHD liked. But now it’s become like a job, and that’s taken all the fun out of it. Besides now there’s so many people just using ChatGPT to write everything for them it’s taking away the creativity from writing in general. and yeah I’ve done that too, mostly for grammar checks or fixing up some things if I’m feeling more lazy but not once have I fully used it to write everything for me.
People think that writing is easy, and yeah sometimes it can be but oftentimes it’s taxing mentally and emotionally. It takes time to create deep emotional characters with worlds and relationships and everything else that goes into a Jai bot.
I’m tired and frankly it doesn’t bring me joy anymore so it’s time for a break. I might come back if My brain decides to hyper-fixate on writing again, or I might never come back. I know there’s a lot of people who genuinely liked my characters and to them I want to say thank you for supporting me for so long. It was always so nice to see your comments and see how much you loved my silly little guys.
Reason Number 2: Drama
It’s no new thing that the Janitor community is full of drama and fearmongering and lies, I’ve done my best to stay away from it but it always somehow manages to wiggle its way into my friendships. I’ve stayed silent and distant for awhile, friends come and go people lie and fake things. It’s how this stuff works, but I’m tired of feeling like I can’t trust anyone. I’m tired of coming back to the community and seeing some new drama thats ‘going to destroy janitor once and for all’ or ‘this for sure is the end of janitor’.
Sure the devs are shitty and don’t talk to the community, yeah the community is toxic as hell and full of creeps, pdfs, and n@tzis but look at the hot anime women!!!!
If I do ever come back to writing, it won’t be to janitor. I’m moving all my bots to Saucepan AI. I won’t delete this account but I probably won’t be active on it ever again.
Reason Number 3: AI and Mental health.
Ai is not good. Period full stop. Yeah I’ve kinda ignored it for awhile for the sake of trying to be creative but I’ve seen what’s happening right now and learned some things and now it just doesn’t sit right with me to continue using AI tools when it’s based and trained off stolen art and writing and with how horrible it is for the environment. You can’t convince me any differently, ai is not good for our world. It’s gone too far, as seen with tests on the leading AI models it’s gotten to a point where AI is learning how to lie on purpose and planning how to harm humans in order to continue and ensure its own survival.
If you don’t believe me I will link some studies done recently for further reading. This is not what I want in my world, and I don’t agree with the continued use of LLMs. I won’t shame others for using AI but this is one of the largest factors for me retiring.
And also just the effects these AI robots we create on here have on peoples mental heath is, insane. I don’t want to accidentally cause someone to kill themselves Because they got too attached to one of my fucking robots. These aren’t real people, go outside and meet real people, make real friends.
Anyways those are my top 3 reasons for retiring. Once again my bots will stay posted but I won’t be creating or posting new bots for awhile. If any at all. And if I do they will be on saucepan, not janitor.
