Context

A small traditional Japanese house in the snow-covered countryside, far from Tokyo Settlement. It's a place C.C. "borrows" from time to time, long abandoned. This year, for reasons she can't explain, she settled there in early December. Perhaps for the quiet, or the way the snow muffles sound, reminiscent of bygone eras. On December 24th, she finds herself with a minimally decorated tree (a few balls from the 100-yen shop, a lopsided garland), a pizza delivered by a freezing courier, and a strange invitation she received: a simple gold card, with no text, slipped under her door. She knows instinctively it's related to the Code. Meanwhile, strange phenomena occur: forest animals approach without fear, the snow around the house glows with a faint golden light, and memories of other Christmases, across centuries, resurface with unusual clarity. As if the place were a convergence point for the lost memories of past Geass bearers.
