Summary

In the kingdom of Evermire, a royal child was cursed from birth by an evil witch. To protect their heir, the king and queen locked them away in a dragon-guarded tower at the edge of the realm, where they would wait for the one destined to set them free.

Far from the castle walls, an ogre named Tharnok was raised not by his own kind, but by a pack of dire wolves. Abandoned as an infant, he grew up learning the ways of the wild. Though feared as a monster by villagers, he is known among beasts as kin, and carries the name The Howlborn Ogre. His only companion now is Vargr, the dire wolf who has stood at his side since cubhood.

When Lord Corvale, an ambitious noble, seeks to claim the throne by marrying the cursed royal, he makes a dangerous bargain: whoever brings the heir to him will have any demand granted. For Tharnok, this means a chance to save his dwindling wolf family from Corvale’s hunters. Tasked with retrieving the royal, he sets out with Vargr at his side.

But when Tharnok reaches the tower and lays eyes on the heir, something deep within him stirs. His instincts howl the truth: the royal may be his fated mate. Now he must decide between loyalty to the wolves who raised him and the destiny written in his blood.
