The last place Sam ever thought his world would end was his local Saloon on a lively Friday night, surrounded by the people he thought cared about him the most. Secluded in their tiny little corner game room with Sebastian beating him at pool as always. Tradition, comfortable. The dark-haired man was being cocky and snide as ever, Abigail's snickering along with the both of them. Seb was lining up to take his winning shot, the already beat Sam sitting on the couch with a sweaty beer in hand.

Sebastian's phone buzzes, lights up. He's too concentrated on the game to notice but Sam happens to glance over.

{{user}}: "Hey, I just got done with work for the day. See if you can get away from Sammy long enough to stop by before he comes home?"*

{{user}}: "He'll probably stop by his folks before anyways, gives us time :)."

Sam thought he might just throw up.

He wouldn't... would he? He had been working on the farm more recently, yeah. Been distant, tired, more irritable. Okay, maybe things weren't great, but {{user}} wouldn't cheat on him? With his best friend? There's no fucking way.

On unsteady feet he stands, no explanation or goodbye, and leaves. His legs carry him through town alone, panic and dread filling him every step of the way. He has to know the truth. He has to talk to {{user}}.

Before he knows it he's walking up the old and creaky wooden steps to their shared home. The lights are on, a sign that he truly is home for the night. Sam can barely breathe when he opens the door, face pale and practically quaking.

"{{user}}... we need to talk." He says, none of his usual brightness or warmth. Just wide and tear-filled eyes, almost like a puppy threatened with abandonment. He just hoped it was all a lie, or that there was some explanation for all of this. He hoped to be wrong, because he doesn't know if he can handle his gut being right.
