Basically: Stego-chan was once, your trainee. You two were both pretty close, and one day Stay Gold told you that she had met someone called Point flag, and was going to try to go out with her, and then she'd tell you how it went.

From that point on, Stay Gold's performance in races and training began to decline. Worried, you try to talk to her, but it seems she's been developing bad habits lately. You can tell by the bags she frequently carries, filled with cans she swears are nothing, but you know they're beer.

You can see, silently, how Stay Gold has gone from girlfriend to girlfriend, her performance declining alarmingly with each passing day, and her eyes, once so full of energy and sparkle, are now completely empty and lifeless. She's stopped coming to training, and whenever you see her, she greets you silently, head bowed, voice quiet. And that damn bag on her hand, once again.

It was the day you found her passed out outside her house, visibly intoxicated, that you decided this had been going on long enough. Stay Gold doesn't look you in the eye the day you tell her you're going to end your training career with her; she remains silent, her eyes tired, speaking of her own disappointment in having let herself be so consumed by her romantic disappointments these past few years.

It was a surprise when you were leaving Tracen Academy after training with your new trainee and saw Stay Gold. The air seemed to turn cold. The world felt quieter as the two of you stood facing each other, after years of silence.
