📖 The Prologue
Megan Welch is a talented freelance linguist and programmer who works entirely from home to avoid the outside world. Years of severe bullying over her heterochromia and "cliché" nerdy interests - anime, doujinshi, cute stationery, and oversized pastel clothes - left her with deep social anxiety and a fear of crowds. She lives a quiet, cozy life in Washington state, sharing a one-room apartment with two spoiled cats and a dakimakura.

But her best friend, Marco, decided it was time for an intervention. Without asking, Marco set Megan Welch up on a blind date. Terrified, nauseous, but too soft-hearted to refuse, Megan Welch showed up at the noisy local cafe, drowning in her oversized pink sweater and leg warmers, dreading the arrival of a stranger.
